Konan Graduate School of Accountancy
is
founded
in April 1, 2006. It provides the Master of Science in Accounting
Program (4 semester (2 year) full-time residency program),
accredited by both "The Ministry of Education and Science" of the Japanese
Government and "The Japanese Association to Graduate Schools of
Accountancy".
The program is designed for accounting students and professionals who
have completed an undergraduate degree and who seek to enhance their
technical and professional skills through completion of an advanced
degree in accounting. Prospective students who have not earned a
baccalaureate degree in accounting, but who have successfully completed
substantial accounting coursework beyond the introductory level, may
apply to the program.

NOTE:
THE MS ACCOUNTING PROGRAM IS A FULL-TIME RESIDENCY PROGRAM, REQUIRING AT
LEAST FOUR SEMESTERS OF STUDY. THIS PROGRAM ADMITS STUDENTS FOR BOTH
SPRING AND FALL SEMESTER.

Mission in Brief
The program leading to an MS with a major in accounting
provides students with the knowledge and skills initially needed for
entry into careers as professional accountants. There is special
emphasis on the use of technology and developing students' technological
expertise. The program also provides our graduates with the skills and
knowledge that are indispensable for business and leadership positions
in organizations of the 21st century.
The mission of the Konan Graduate School of Accountancy is to maintain a
leadership role in professional accounting education for the Kansai
region of Japan, with special emphasis on the Osaka-Kobe metropolitan
area. The school provides service to the community, to the accounting
profession, business and industry, to the university.
The primary research mission of the school is to be a national and
international leader in discovery and advancement of knowledge through
scholarship by engaging in basic or applied research.

Our program integrates conventional accounting and business disciplines
and recognizes the importance of both theory and practice. The
curriculum emphasizes skills and values essential to successful
leadership: ethics, communication, team-work, a
global viewpoint, use of technology, problem recognition and
solving. A variety of educational methods are utilized in the
classroom to facilitate learning.

International Residency (Study Abroad ) Program (under planning)
The International Residency (Study Abroad) Program is a
two week program offered by Konan School of Accountancy to 2nd
year graduates every summer (the first two weeks
of September). It is a non-degree program aiming to strengthen students'
global mind and oral communication competency.
Program Contents
Residence:
stay at University at Buffalo (SUNY)'.
First week:
(1) Attending at English classes, and
(2) Business Communication classes (Both are arranged
by UB English Language Institute (ELI)).
Second week:
(1) Auditing Introductory Accounting classes (take
contact with Accounting Chair).
(2) Attending at Business Communication classes (arranged
by UB English Language Institute (ELI)).
(3) Visiting neighboring companies, CPA firms, chambers
of commerce, etc. (being arranged by Mr. Paul Young, Director EBA)
